Event Organizer safety and Security consultant specialist Chris Kirwa has responded to Langa’ta MP’s new directive on event organizers.
Speaking through his social media page, he said that people cannot be employed based on the fact that they are idle and have nothing to do, but because they have the necessary skill set.
“You are given a Chance to work because of your talent, skill set, or qualifications, not because you come from a particular constituency.”
He has emphasized the recruitment part, saying that they hire people according to qualifications and their level of skills and not just because they need labor. Adding that people are empowered by the experience and then connections follow, not the other way around,
You Empower Your people using the experience you have and networks to connect them to opportunities, Not issuing ultimatums.”
Chris Kirwa concluded, saying that they don’t usually ask someone where they are from when they are employing them, but rather see their work and qualifications, which is what matters.
“When we employ people, we don’t ask them which constituency they come from. This has been the norm; It can’t change in 2023.”
Jalango had directed event organizers to consider giving the youth opportunities when organizing events, saying that if they don’t comply with the rules, the event will not happen.
