English Premier League team Chelsea Football Club scored 4 goals, winning against their Europa League opponents Gent, who had 2 goals.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and midfielder Renato Veiga both scored their first Chelsea goal yesterday at Stamford Bridge to help Chelsea secure their win.

Winger Pedro Neto smashed in a near-post finish just 49 seconds after halftime after latching on to a long ball down the middle by Axel Disasi.

Thirteen minutes later, Chelsea’s forward Christopher Nkunku latched on to a loose ball to score his seventh goal of the season with a low shot that went through goalkeeper Davy Roef.

Gent, however, managed to make it two thanks to Omri Gandelman, who added a consolation goal after Chelsea were found wanting back in their defense making the game end on an aggregate of 2 goals.

Chelsea’s win gives them an upper hand as they’re 3 points ahead of their opponents and goals as well.

It was a performance that showed the imposing depth in Chelsea’s squad, with a completely different starting line-up to the one that beat Brighton 4-2 in the Premier League last Saturday.

Chelsea has now back-to-back wins, having won 5 consecutive matches, proving an enviable depth of quality in the squad.

The Conference League has a new 36-team league phase this season, with Chelsea bidding to qualify automatically for the knockout rounds by finishing in the top eight.
