Wafula Chebukati has finally bid bye to Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) as the chairperson.
The Outgoing IEBC chairperson shared an emotional message to the team as he exits his role at the IEBC.
Earlier today at midnight, this information was made public on all social media platforms.
Chebukati had scripted a message that read,
“I was appointed chairperson of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on 18th January 2017 for a constitutional term of six years. Yesterday I successfully completed the term.”
He Furthermore thanked and appreciated Kenyans for allowing him to serve them and assured them that he executed everything as per the law.
He said that he had finished his term and given the circumstances that of course had happened especially when he was announcing the presidential results and where his fate stands right now he is leaving office.
“I Leave the IEBC with solid governance structures and a stable permanent secretariat.”
He then also said something to his staff members, appreciating how they have worked together.
“To the IEBC staff, thank you for working tirelessly and with dedication despite difficult circumstances at times. You are the true heroes. To the future commission, fidelity to the law is the key to success at IEBC. God bless Kenya.”
