A vibrant gathering filled All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi on Tuesday, honoring the life of beloved Reggae MC Njambi Koikai, also known as Fyah Mummah.
The vigil brought together family, friends, and fellow creatives to celebrate Koikai’s impact. Among those present were Sports CS Ababu Namwamba, actress Jacky Vike (Awinja), Talia Oyando, Shix Kapienga, and comedian Timothy Kimani (Njugush).
Celebrating Koikai
Minister Namwamba offered a heartfelt eulogy, praising Koikai not only for her contributions to entertainment but also for her unwavering dedication to human rights.
“Njambi was a beacon of hope and equity,” he said, “a tireless advocate for fairness who shared my passion for justice.”
The vigil served as a space of remembrance and comfort for those who knew and admired Koikai. From Monday to Wednesday, evenings were filled with tributes recalling her infectious energy, vibrant spirit, and unwavering commitment to making a positive difference.

The celebration of Fyah Mummah’s life continues on Thursday with a memorial service at Nairobi Chapel on Ngong Road. Her final farewell will take place on Friday, June 14th, at Lang’ata Cemetery in Nairobi.
