Brian Chira Arrested For Defaming Azziad

Kenyan Content Creator Brian Chira has been arrested for allegedly defaming Azziad Nasenya.

He is currently being held at the Wilson Airport police station.

Basically, what Chira had done was say some sensitive messages about the TikToker, saying that it is the very reason why Azziad got the government job, and he would as well want to experience the same if that is what it takes for him to be employed and get money.

Through a video circulating online, Brian Chira went live on his TikTok page and started saying that he is on a different level than Azziad, but it escalated when he started mentioning sensitive, unspeakable things, accusing the TikToker of having engaged in bad acts so that she can get a job and urging the public that he would as well want the money if all it entails is getting into that very same act.

“Kwanza Niko level ingine ata kushinda Azziad mimi.. Azziad alipata kazi na akapata pesa kidogo akaona tuh sasa ni kama amefika aty anaeza………. pesa kidogo wewe akh wallahi ndio maana..ata mimi nataka ku….”

It didn’t take long before Chira was apprehended and taken into custody for such sensitive, defamatory words.

Azziad’s lawyer, Getrude, was on site and expressed her disappointment in Brian Chira, saying that he had taken it too far, not just by defaming her but also by sharing Azziad’s contact details.

“My client, on her part, has been buzzed for the past week with a lot of calls and a lot of messages, some of which are actually insults on the same.

Because of that, my client was not happy, and since we have Computer misuse and cybercrime, she chose to pursue the matter in a legal manner. We’ve engaged the relevant legal institutions, and that’s the police and also the directorate of criminal investigation. That’s why he was arrested today.”

Azziad’s lawyer also shared the consequences of defamation once you have been found guilty, saying that you will have to pay the injured person. And in Azziad’s case, Chira might be subjected to a fine of up to 10 million Ksh.
