Madina has revealed shocking details behind Betty Kyallo’s business closure.
Speaking at JKIA upon arrival, Madina hinted that Betty’s business closure isn’t a surprise to them because it is something they’d actually seen coming because of the inconsistency of many things that they had noted.
“Watu kama sisi wenye tulikua tunawork pale ni kitu tuliona inaeza happen… because it wasn’t that busy… kuna time yenye unaeza kua place na uone the flow of client an uone the class imekua pale na rent inalipwa pale haziambatani.” Madina explained.

Madina added that the year when he used to work at Betty’s was when the business was doing well because they were putting in the work, but others would waste a whole day awaiting clients who couldn’t turn up, and the bad side of it, according to him, is that they could charge expensively and deliver poor services, which is why the business closed down as it was not bearing fruit.
Madina did also talk about how Kenyan entrepreneurs or business owners go wrong in Kenya, which is by investing more in the location than in the technicians, hinting that it should be the other way around if you can’t balance the two, as that is how many are failing and closing down.
“People invest a lot in the environment…Nyumba, location hizo vitu fancy, but don’t take part in investing and listen to technicians dismissing their rate cards, forgetting that they are the ones who bring clients.” Madina said.
Reason why Betty Kyallo closed her business:
Media personality and businesswoman Betty Kyallo decided to close down her high-end salon, ‘Flair By Betty’ because of rent arrears. She decided to do so in order to have peace of mind and stay stress-free, urging people to learn to let go and move on.
“Thank you so much for the love, the calls, and the messages. I really appreciate the love. But let me tell you, I’m good, I’m happier, and I just learned to let go. If something costs you your peace, your sleep, and your happiness and you get home, you are not happy because you are thinking about stressful situations. You just let it go, and I’m so happy right now. And I really appreciate all the love.
Running a business in Kenya has become so difficult. Landlords don’t want to reduce rent, and it becomes a huge burden on businesses that are struggling because of the economic slowdown. Am happier. I sleep better. My peace of mind is more important than a name. I’m good. Also After 2 months of expansion, we reopened Aftershave by Flair Upperhill, La Baita.” Betty shared.
