Bahati Urges Kenyans To Remain United And Not Let Politicians Divide Them

Kenyan gospel artist Kevin Bahati has advised the public that they shouldn’t allow politicians to get the best of them.

Speaking through his social media page, Bahati has penned a heartfelt message explaining how disappointed he was after watching how Rwanda had lost quite a number of citizens just because they were basing their relationship on tribe and political incitement.

“JUST FROM WATCHING THE NEWS ON MAANDAMANO, I felt like saying something. Before Reading this, I would like to request that you take a second and watch this short video that I kept to myself when I visited the Rwanda Genocide Memorial in Rwanda. It was very heartbreaking indeed. It was like a bad dream. Rwanda lost over 1 million people in less than a hundred days just because of tribalism and political incitement. This was one of my hardest moments in Rwanda, visiting the mass graves and listening to the stories of how Blood was shed property destroyed!.”

He then took the moment to advise Kenyans to reflect on where they were initially and consider making a turn on the way they are doing things, especially now that they have a practical example from Rwandans.

“My Country, People of Kenya, it all begins like this… We were losing it in the year 2007, but God had Mercy on us; Let’s learn from Our neighbors in Rwanda and especially what happened to us during the post-election violence in 2007. Yes, we all have a right to express ourselves, but let’s not use that opportunity to fight one another; let’s not use it to shed blood; let’s not destroy your fellow poor man’s property in the name of Maandamano.”

He then told the public that no single politician will take a bullet for them, let alone keep their word, as they may as well desert them when things get crazy and flee to other continents, leaving them disadvantaged.

“I might not have succeeded as a Politician, but I will tell you some plain Truth… NO SINGLE POLITICIAN can die for you, so you should not die for any! And if Civil War Starts Today in Kenya, these Politicians will Take the First Flight Wakimbilie Majuu… The Mama Mboga you’re stealing from ndio utakopa Sukuma Kwake Economy ikiumana.”

The Proud father of five urged the public, especially the youths who are on the front lines of the ongoing demonstrations in the country led by the Azimio Coalition leader, Raila Odinga, to consider doing it peacefully and as per the law dictates without vandalizing public and private property, urging the young professionals that they should at all costs protect their lives and maintain peace and unity for a better, promising future.

“We are The Leaders of tomorrow, so if We Lose our youth To gunshots today, Clearly there’s No Tomorrow! May Peace and Unity Prevail in Jesus name. I LOVE YOU, MYMOTHERLANDD KENYA.”
