Mathare’s Parliamentary seat aspirant Kelvin Kioko, famously known as Bahati as his stage name has continued to face deterrents in this coming August Elections.
Earlier today the Musician called for a press conference to settle down the talks of him dropping out of the seat.
“Dear Azimio… Stop Misleading the voters of Mathare… Bahati-MP Mathare has not stepped down for anyone!!!” posted Bahati.
Speaking to the press, the father of 4 was there to shut down Sifuna’s and Shebesh’s claims.
“I’m here to clarify and set the record straight, nimeona a lot of propaganda taken and lies zikipelekwa viral by Sifuna and Shebesh,” continued Bahati, “Bahati Kioko is still and is on the race as the next Member of Parliament Mathare constituency,” clarified Bahati.
This is after ODM Secretary-General, Edwin Sifuna said that Aluoch is the best-preferred candidate to run for the seat saying that since Bahati has been removed for the bid, he will be offered an alternative position in the Azimio-one Kenya upon winning the August polls.
“Our colleagues from Jubilee will be presenting their candidates from eight constituencies and those from ODM will present eight constituencies,” Continued Sifuna, “zoning was done perfectly even here in Mathare we have agreed that it’s an ODM zone. We only have one candidate in Mathare and that is Anthony Oluoch, this young man called Bahati is my younger brother and we will talk. I will make sure that we find him another position within the Azimio government.”
Among Sifuna, was also the Ministry Of Public Service, youth And Gender Affairs Chief Administrative Secretary, Racheal Shebesh who mentioned talking with Bahati saying that he should drop from the seat as even Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi had shelved his ambition of running Nairobi’s gubernatorial seat to support Igathe.
“We have talked to Bahati several times asking him to work with us in the larger government. Bahati you are not even at the level of Tim Wanyonyi who dropped his bid to be Nairobi governor,” said Shebesh.
