Kenyan Gospel artist Kevin Bahati has sent a message to Kenyan artists.
Speaking through his social media page, he has called upon all Kenyan artists to pick up the pace and not allow the neighboring countries to take over, including ruling over their own country.
“But I thought I should share My Thoughts and opinions, and it’s out of nothing but love. Wasanii Wenzangu Wa Kenya 🇰🇪 We might try to ignorthis,is but Tumeacha Jirani analala Hadi Na Bibi Zetu… From YouTube, Boomplayand iTuneses to Ouradiosiand & TVs..Numberser #1 to #10 Trendininni Tanzania I almost thought I was in Darsala. It’s not that I have Anything against TZ Nigeria; in fact, act Chibu and King Kiba are My undeniable Brothers, but we need to pick a Lesson from t….”
This comes after he realized that Kenyan Music has not been doing well, let alone globally, but even locally, as many Kenyans, including one of their own, aren’t interested in listening to what they are producing. He has based this on a lack of hard work and teamwork.
“This is the Time for Kenyan Musicians to Stop thinking they Can make it alone and Simply Come Together… NO SOLO KENYAN ARTIST CAN TAKE OUR SOUND GLOBAL ON THEIR OWN; THAT’S A FACT. We need to Work Together as a team or else we will keep Curtain Raising for our neighbors.”
According to Bahati, all the Kenyan artists should unite and work together as a team; even better, consider emulating what their neighbors are doing, as that is the only way that they might as well rule the music industry without being overthrown. Concluding by saying that he isn’t looking for any fame or chasing clout; he only wants what’s best for all.
“Look at What they’re doing! They’re Coming together, and through their unity, they’re Taking Over Home and Away!
FELLOW MUSICIANS, LET’S COME TOGETHER IF WE WANT TO GAIN BACK OUR LEADERSHIP AND RESPECT IN AFRICAN MUSIC. If WE COME TOGETHER, OUR FANS WILL COME TOGETHER AND SUPPORT us. Sina Ubaya, SitafutiKiki,i wala Chochote… Most of you know My hearty and my desire are to see us get what We deserve—being at the Top!
