Kenyan musician Bahati and his wife, Diana Marua, recently experienced a deeply emotional reunion, welcoming Rose and Purity, two girls from a children’s home, into their family once again. Diana shared the touching moment with fans through a special video on her YouTube channel, offering a glimpse into their heartfelt journey of love and support
Bahati’s relationship with Rose and Purity began years ago when he was fostering his son, Morgan. During his visits to the children’s home, he formed a close bond with the girls and dreamt of adopting them. Unfortunately, strict legal requirements blocked his aspirations.
“I was young and struggling to establish myself at that time. The legal criteria for adopting girls were too strict, and I didn’t meet them.” Bahati explained. This reality led to a heartbreaking decision: despite his deep desire to give them a better life, he had to return Rose and Purity to the children’s home.

The Heartache of Separation
Bahati, who himself grew up in a children’s home, found the separation especially painful. “I wanted to help these girls as I was helped before, but when the law prevented it, I had to make a tough choice that broke my heart,” he said.
Although unable to adopt them, Bahati continued to support the girls from afar, staying involved in their lives as much as possible. Yet, this reunion was their first gathering in years, making it all the more significant.
When Rose and Purity arrived at Bahati and Diana’s home, the emotional impact was profound. For Morgan, who had grown up with the girls, it was an especially poignant moment. Recognizing them as his “sisters,” he was overwhelmed with emotion and broke down in tears, highlighting the strong bond they share.
Diana described the reunion as a “true family reunion,” celebrating the enduring connection forged through their shared past.
During the reunion, Rose revealed that she is now a mother, adding an unexpected layer of joy to the day.Diana, always the cheerful presence, playfully referred to herself as ‘Shosho dotcom’ and ‘Shosho wa madoo,’ bringing some levity to the heartfelt occasion.
