Kenyan actor Baha Machachari, commonly known as ‘Tyler Mbaya’, has opened up about the sacrifices he had to make as a single father in order to be with his daughter.
Speaking in an interview sit down with the Dialogue Dive YouTube show, he came clean, saying that it is the unconditional love he has for his kid, ‘Astra Nyambura’, that made him not take the option of going out of the country to hustle and chose to remain still so that he spends more time with his infant and watch her grow.
“All my fans know how much I love my kids. That’s why, nikiamua, until my last breath, kukua close to my kid, I will do exactly that.
Nimeona wasee wakienda overseas ku hustle, I mean, it is an option… That’s why mimi nili opt not kuenda overseas ku hustle; I was like, I wanna be next to my kid.” Baha said.
The young father of one went on to say that being close to your child at a tender age has quite a number of benefits because the father figure is very important in a young child’s life. Having been raised without one for almost 10 years, he knows the value of it.
“Niliona, my dad, akido hiyo kitu… nikaona, the benefits and the cons of it, and what I can say is that being close to you, kid, is something I would fight for with my life.
I decided to grind from back here, and I will keep doing so. I don’t have to go overseas for me to make it.” Baha explained.

Speaking of the single fatherhood journey, he described it as a journey that is not easy but enjoyable nonetheless.
“Si rahisi, but it is a fun journey, and I love it. And I love it because I’m learning unconditional love. Huyu mtoi napenda bila kujali kama atanipenda na hiyo ni kitu tough sana.” Baha opened up.
