AZIMIO’S MANIFESTO LAUNCH.

Azimio la Umoja Presidential aspirant Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua yesterday launched their party’s manifesto at Nyayo Stadium alongside other his supporters and political allies.

Raila Odinga who is the party leader yesterday listed a 10-point agenda highlighting his manifesto. This was after the aspirant was cleared by the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission and ready to vie as the country’s presidential aspirant.

Speaking at the event he stated that the major enemies of the Kenyan people are Ignorance, Poverty and Diseases which his government will work within their first 100 days to eradicate them.

He outlined his manifesto in a 10-point plan which he has dubbed it as “Mwamko plan” which constitutes:

1.Azimio la Ugatuzi – This includes devolved resources and advancing a “one county, One product” programme.

2. Azimio la Viwanda – It states of the Inua jamii, pesa mfukoni social protection programme which will deliver ksh6,000 per month to the most needy families.
3. Azimio la Jitihada- Securing the welfare of the people by generating avenues for productivity, through job creation programs.
4. Azimio la kina mama- This programme will unlock access to financing for women-led businesses and provide support for them.
5. Azimio la ukulima- to create an enabling environment for climate-smart Agriculture, agro-processing, improved livestock farming and growth of the blue economy.
6. #Inawezekana- According to Raila, he recognizes that whichever administration comes into power, the people remain sovereign and the government is theirs and there should therefore be continuity and minimal disruption even as priorities are reviewed.
7. Baba care- According to Raila, He will seek to uplift Health Insurance Cover for all Kenyans and focus on social protection and transformation. All Citizens should enjoy the right to accessible, quality and affordable healthcare.
8. Waste not a single child- as stated in the manifesto, this programme will be an aggressive scheme to ensure that all, not some children get rightful access to quality Education.
9. Maji kwa kila boma- under this programme the Azimio government will ensure that all households are able to access water , particularly the poor.
10. Administrative Continuity- This programme will seek accountability from all custodians of power for the mandate bestowed upon them by the electorate. It will focus on Battling corruption, ensuring efficiency and optimality in Public service delivery.
