“That time has passed. The truth is everything has gone up, and at that time Arsenal wasn’t that expensive compared to the way it is now. I don’t think I have that kind of excess liquidity to go and buy a club $4 billion dollars to use it as a promotion or something; I’d rather do something else with the money.” Dangote said.

He, however, promised to continue supporting Arsenal by following it’s activities as he still remains a fan despite having not invested in it.

“I will continue to be the biggest Arsenal fan, but I don’t think it makes sense to buy it today.” Dangote revealed.

Why He didn’t buy Arsenal Football club before

Asked why or what stopped him from buying Arsenal back in the day, the billionaire explained that his money was needed else where; and because of the commitment he had made – it made it hard to add Arsenal to the list of investments.

“My money was more needed in completing my project than buying Arsenal; I would have bought it at $2 billion dollars, but I wouldn’t have been able to finish my project.” Dangote said.
