MOST EXPENSIVE SCHOOLS IN KENYA

It’s the joy of every single parent to see their children go to the best schools and be educated. This said some parents find public schools not suitable for their children, some claiming that the schools are overcrowded, with few textbooks and with under-equipped facilitators.
Even with the rise in the cost of living, children from slightly better-off families are privileged to attend some of those schools where they travel in style in chauffeured vehicles with better-paid teachers, substantive curricula and a wide range of extracurricular activities.
SPM BUZZ has done thorough research to compile a list of the most expensive schools in Kenya and how much they cost.

1. Kenya International School

The school has nearly 1000 students from more than 60 countries. New students pay 400 dollars as an admission fee as well as 1000 dollars to cover capital expenses. Tuition ranges from 16,974 dollars for kindergarten to 32,543 dollars for grades 11 and 12.

2.Greensted International School.

This is a day and boarding school that offers the British curriculum to students from A level. The school is located in Nakuru County. Children enrolling for playgroup pay sh 49,500 Children in grades 1 and 2 pay Sh131,000 for day time studies and boarders pay sh 401,500. Boarding students in grades 12 and 13 pay Sh848,000 per term. The boarding fee includes lodging, meals and tuition.

3. ST Andrews Turi

The school located in Turi between Nakuru and Kericho is known for excellent education and strong Christian values. Nursery school students pay Sh171,000 per term while boarding students in grades 1 and 2 pay Sh650,000.

4. Brookhouse school

This is a co-educational independent British curriculum day and boarding school offering early years preparatory and secondary education. Students pay an admission fee of Sh45,000. The tuition fee per term is sh 860,000.

5 . Peponi school

The school founded in 1989 is a day and boarding school based on the British school system and on Christian principles. Full boarders pay Sh1,115,180 for admission while weekly boarders pay Sh1,053,175 . Day students are charged Sh731,510. The students also pay additional fees for activities such as music and any exams associated with it.

6. Hill crest international school

The school is located in Karen. It used the British curriculum. The school has three sections: Hill crest primary, Hillcrest preparatory and Hillcrest secondary. Tuition fee goes for Sh645,900 for admission to preparatory school while early years students spend Sh330,450

7. Braeburn Imani International School.

It’s an international school in Nairobi. The students in the playgroup pay approximately Sh189,600. Grade 13 students pay a basic fee of more than Sh1.2 million for meals transportation and boarding.

8. Gems Cambridge international school.

The school is located in Karen running from kindergarten to Grade 13.it offers the British National curriculum.Pre Kindergarten pay approximately sh551,204 while grade 13 students pay sh1,640,343.

9. The Banda school

The school is located in Karen. It provides the British Education system. Students in their early years give between Sh225,000 and Sh280,000 per year. Years one to eight pay between Sh380,000 and Sh645 000 per term.

10. Kenton college preparatory school

The school is based in Kileleshwa and operates under the British Education system. The school fee ranges from Sh675,918 per term

11. Rosslyn Academy

The school is located in Gigiri. It Is a Christian private international school that offers the North American curriculum from preschool to 12th grade. Parents pay 1.5M per term. They also pay 100 dollars non-refundable registration fee.

12. Rusinga school

The school is located in Lavington. The day school follows the British curriculum and is founded on Christian principles.
The school ranges from Kindergarten to A level.  Fees is Sh133,350 for the kindergarten students, Sh262,500 for preparatory and Sh 481950 for senior school .

13. The Nairobi Academy

The school runs under the British curriculum and it includes kindergarten, pre-prep school, prep school and secondary education.
Preparatory learners pay between Sh80,000 and Sh140,000 to gain admission to this institution. The fees for those in high school range between Sh270,000 and Sh960,000.

14. Light International school

The school is located in Karen. It provides learning programs from kindergarten to A level.
The fee for kindergarten students is estimated to be Sh120,000 and for primary school students Sh156,000, secondary students pay Sh281,000

15. Woodcreek school

The school is located on Kiambu road . From kindergarten to high school the institution provides education based on the British curriculum. They charge Sh184,000 per term and Sh302,500 per year.
