Kenyan athlete Eliud Kiphoge has shared reasons why he doesn’t see the need to hire a driver.

Despite being a notable figure it would surprise you to know that Eliud Kipchoge whose a world record holder is a very humble husband and father who loves keeping a low profile, Kipchoge revealed that he really doesn’t see the essence of having a personal driver to drive him around, because he and his wife both know how to drive.
“I don’t have a hire driver, and I have never hired a driver in all 21 years of my career; we have many things to do; my wife is driving; I am driving; we are driving children to school; I don’t see any meaning of a hire driver; I mean, they take me where?” Eliud shared.
According to Kipchoge, driving is therapeutic that is why he prefers doing it, and after a long day of work or maybe training, being able to disconnect, for a while by just driving, helps clear his mind.
“It’s one of the few times where I can be alone with my thoughts, listen to music, and simply enjoy some quiet time.
“I just enjoy driving, long drives but not really over speeding; I try to enjoy the roads… and it helps me be calm and get rid of other things in my mind and helps me function.” Eliud Kipchoge revealed.

He also shared the experience of driving a car that has his name, ‘Eliud Kipchoge 001’ , saying that, to him, it is a fulfillment of what he has always wanted to do with his career, which is ‘Having an impact’ in the society.
“I feel great and happy actually knowing that I have actually created an impact in this world, which has actually been my plan throughout my career. The car actually is actually that fulfillment that there’s a certain impact I have made on all human beings and the society at large.” Kipchoge shared.

“They are only 159 special edition cars in the whole world and once they have all been sold the Isuzu actually will write a good story, publish a good book consisting 159 pages indicating each customer that has bought the car and the history of the car.” Eliud Kipchoge shared.
