Samidoh biography
Samidoh was born in Subukia, Nakuru Country. He is the third born in a family of six boys. He was brought up in a very humble family. His father died when he was three years old. Soon after, they were kicked out of their Subukia home by his father’s brothers. His family was forced to relocate to Oljororok in Nyandarua County.
His mother was a peasant farmer, and she engaged in menial jobs to educate, feed, and clothe the children. Shortly after he joined secondary school, his mother also passed on, leaving him orphaned. For his early childhood education, he attended Oljororok Primary School until he reached class seven. At some point, things became unbearable, and he had to drop out of primary school in Class 7 to herd animals to complement what his mother earned. Later on, he joined Kieni Primary School, where he sat for his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams. After completing primary education, he proceeded to join Kieni Secondary School in 2004. The same year he was transferred to Oljororok Secondary School. In 2011, he joined the Kenya Polytechnic University to pursue a diploma course in Business Information Technology. After he completed his university studies, he joined the Administration Police Service.
Samidoh had a passion for music from a very tender age. While he was still in school, he used to lead the choir. He was also the leader of the worship team for the Christian Union. When he completed his high school education, he left the village and travelled to Nairobi, where he joined Kamande Wa Kioi’s band as a backup vocalist. His career grew tremendously, making him one of the finest Mugithi artists.
