According to the ‘Kuu Kuu’ hitmaker, most Kenyan artists are overrated, which is why the industry itself is not growing, adding that people, or rather the public, usually focus on the wrong aspects failing to look at the real deal and spot real talent when there is.

He gave a practical example of himself being an artist who just released a hit song that is trending across all social media platforms.

The ‘Kuukuu’ song he is talking about that he has featured JZyno was released 6 months ago and has got over 5 million views and counting on YouTube, It is also a song that has been trending lately, but Willy Paul feels like the song hasn’t been served justice and he is not getting enough recognition from the public.

“Most Kenyan artists are just overrated, and that’s the main shit killing the industry. I have the biggest song right now, #Kuukuu. a song that came out 5 months ago.

Stop praising these clowns. Support real music, real talent.” Part of Willy Paul’s statement read:

What doesn’t sit right with him is the aspect of partiality and favouritism: people being made to believe that a particular artist is greater than the other despite the artist being praised not having worked as hard as the rest of others.

Willy Paul’s decision to champion equality and fairness among all artists is a clear indication that the public needs to support their own without favourism.
