Renowned activist Boniface Mwangi was seen making headlines again on the night of September 1, 2024, as he staged a protest against President William Ruto at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). Known for his outspoken activism, Mwangi’s latest public outburst comes in the wake of his significant role in recent anti-government protests that successfully led to the withdrawal of the controversial Finance Bill 2024.

In a video captured at JKIA, Mwangi is seen rolling a suitcase while passionately chanting, “Ruto must go.” His vocal criticism was aimed at President Ruto, whom he accused of excessive borrowing and corruption. Mwangi’s remarks included severe accusations, labelling the president as a “puppet” of foreign powers and a “slave master.”

“I’m at the airport, and Ruto has gone to China to borrow money. Ruto must go. He borrows money from whites and Asians. He is a poor man. Ruto must go. He must go. Whatever you go. Wherever you are, remember this: He must go. He is a slave master. He is a white puppet,” Mwangi declared in the video: BONIFACE MWANGI’S JKIA VIDEO

Mwangi’s actions at the airport were accompanied by a broader critique of President Ruto’s economic policies. He argued that Ruto’s extensive borrowing was detrimental to the country and reflected poorly on his leadership. This public display adds to Mwangi’s ongoing campaign against what he perceives as government corruption and mismanagement of public resources.
