President Ruto Calls for Urgent Action on Rising Cases of Missing Persons

Published on

President William Ruto has called for increased efforts to find and assist individuals who have gone missing in recent months. During a speech delivered today, President Ruto addressed the growing concern over the rising number of disappearances in Kenya, emphasizing the need for a coordinated response to tackle the issue.

“If there is a family that their child, relative or friend went to a demonstration, whether it is this year or last year and never came back, I want to know their names because i will take firm and decisive action. Because as I talk to you I don’t have a single name of someone who has been abducted or disappeared, The PS for Interior, Raymond is here kama uko na jina ya mtu alipotea patia huyu muungwana hayo majina, we will deal with that situation” President Ruto stated.

The president’s remarks come amid reports of several high-profile cases where individuals, including students and activists, have gone missing under mysterious circumstances. Although authorities have been investigating these cases, the lack of progress has caused anxiety and frustration among the public.

In his speech, President Ruto announced that there is a task force dedicated to investigating disappearances. The task force will work closely with law enforcement agencies and human rights organizations to ensure a thorough investigation and provide timely updates to the public.

Human rights groups have welcomed the president’s initiative but have called for additional measures to address the root causes of disappearances and prevent future incidents. They have also urged the government to ensure that investigations are conducted impartially and without delay.

As the task force begins its work, families of the missing persons remain hopeful for a resolution and urge anyone with information to come forward.
