Swaleh, who is currently facing legal troubles related to the scandal, expressed deep remorse for his actions and pleaded for forgiveness.

In the emotional video, Swaleh referred to Mudavadi as a father figure, emphasizing the trust they had built during his time working for him. He admitted to breaking that trust and expressed deep regret for his actions.

“I served you with unmatched zeal for one and a half years, but I broke the trust, and I am truly sorry about it,” Swaleh stated.

He went on to describe how the past month had been extremely difficult for him, explaining that the negative publicity surrounding the case had pushed him into emotional turmoil.

“I’ve been unable to walk outside because of the kind of publicity I received. So many bad things have been running through my mind… sometimes, I even feel like taking my own life. I lost everything in a blink of an eye,” Swaleh revealed.

Legal and financial struggles

Swaleh also shed light on the financial and legal pressures he has been facing since the scandal broke. He described how each court session has been filled with extortion, with both lawyers and police officers demanding money from him.

“Every time we go to court, the lawyers and police are on my neck, extorting me left, right, and center. They think I have a lot of money, but nothing is moving in the case,” he lamented.

The financial strain has been particularly overwhelming for Swaleh, who revealed that his salary was abruptly cut off, leaving him unable to pay his bills and loans.

“Bills are piling up, and my salary stopped suddenly. I have loans to pay, and I don’t know where to start,” he shared.

The Fraud Case

Swaleh apologized after authorities arrested him and other high-ranking officials from the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary and the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs.

The group allegedly posed as senior government officials, swindling foreigners and demanding bribes in exchange for fake promises. The authorities cracked down on the cartel, leading to the arrests.

In the video, Swaleh pleaded with Mudavadi not only for forgiveness but also for help in resolving the case so that he could rebuild his life.

“Please find it in your heart to forgive me and help end this so I can pick up the small pieces that are left and start over,” Swaleh begged.

A Cry for Redemption

Swaleh ended his video by expressing the immense impact the scandal has had on his life and his struggle to find a way forward. He emphasized how the bad publicity has made it nearly impossible for him to secure another job, leaving him desperate for a resolution.

“With the kind of bad publicity I got, it’s almost impossible to get another place to work. Please have mercy on me, sir,” he concluded.
