Renowned TV host Willis Raburu has shared intriguing details on how he was able to turn over a new leaf after being overweight for years.

The media personality divulged in a recent interview with Dr. Ofweneke, his struggles with excess weight.

Currently, Raburu states that he is weighing 112 KGs, down from 164 KGs.

”I’m so happy to say this. Right now I’m 112 KGs. But before I went through my surgery I was 164 KG. After the surgery I had complications. Not because of the surgery but because of what they call underlying issues,” he started off.

Willis Raburu’s weight problem began while he was still young. He explained how he was trolled by netizens about his weight when he was still in radio.

”For me it goes way back to when I was growing up. Because by the time I was in class 8, I was already 100 KGs,” he continued.

Last year, Raburu shared his experience with gastric bypass surgery, revealing the changes he had undergone since the procedure. Raburu discussed the benefits and challenges of the surgery.

Raburu underwent a minimally invasive gastric bypass procedure, which involved small incisions for the surgeon to access the body with cameras and equipment. He described the process as smooth but acknowledged that adjusting to a new diet has been a challenge.

The TV host emphasized the importance of portion control, water intake, and chewing food thoroughly. He also shared that he has been working out with Alvin Lee Fitness to maintain his weight loss.

Raburu revealed that he has lost 40 kilograms since the surgery, leading him to donate most of his previous clothes. He now enjoys the freedom of finding clothes in any store and feels significantly lighter.

For those considering gastric bypass surgery, Raburu advised viewing it as an investment in oneself and saving up for the procedure. He encourages people not to feel ashamed or pressured to avoid the surgery as an option.

The TV host also emphasizes the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle after the surgery, including regular exercise and seeking proper guidance.
