Jumaisi’s escape has sent shockwaves throughout the country, with many questioning the security measures at the police station. According to sources, the suspects broke out in the early hours, though the exact details of their escape remain unclear.

Jumaisi had become infamous following the discovery of multiple bodies at a dumpsite in Kware, Mukuru slums. The police allege that Jumaisi murdered his wife in 2022, making her his first victim, before disposing of her body in a nearby pit, just 100 meters from his home. This marked the beginning of a series of gruesome murders that left the community in fear.

The bodies of the victims, all women, were found wrapped and disposed of in a similar manner at the Kware pit. The murders are believed to have taken place over two years, between 2022 and July 2024. When arrested, Jumaisi confessed to the murders and led police to a machete he claimed to have used to dismember the bodies.

The escape of Jumaisi has raised serious concerns about the safety and effectiveness of law enforcement in handling high-risk suspects. As of now, the police have yet to issue an official statement regarding the escape, but a massive manhunt is underway to recapture Jumaisi and the other escapees. Residents of Mukuru and surrounding areas are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.

The escape has not only reignited fear but has also brought attention to the ongoing issues within the Kenyan justice system. The public awaits answers and justice for the victims of the Mukuru murders.
