Religion is slowly transitioning to a way of manipulating people and getting away with their hard-earned cash.
Pastors have now mastered the art of manipulation and are milking millions from innocent congregants who have ‘faith’ in them.
Eldoret victims on the spot
A pastor in Eldoret is now in hiding after allegedly defrauding his congregants of millions of shillings in a fraudulent investment scheme. Apostle Seko Silas of Rofam Center Christian Church convinced his followers to invest heavily in his company, De La Vie Consult, promising lucrative returns.
Victims claim the pastor portrayed the investment as a path to financial freedom and security for their families. Many sold property or took loans to invest, lured by the promise of monthly earnings of Ksh30,000.

One victim described losing over three million shillings, stating, “He promised Ksh30,000 per month for every Ksh100,000 invested.” Another victim recounted receiving payments initially but the scheme collapsing shortly after.
Silas has refuted the accusations, claiming the company was a lifeline for many and that the disgruntled investors are ungrateful. He insists the business will persevere despite the negative publicity.
However, the affected church members have reported the matter to the police.
The incident has raised concerns about the exploitation of religious faith for financial gain. Some other pastors who have been caught up in similar situations include Pastor Kanyari, pastor Ezekiel & pastor James Wanjohi.
