Speaking during an interview with Dr. Ofweneke, Israel opened up, saying that he is who he is now because the Lord favored him and answered his call.

According to Israel, his song was actually inspired by the fact that he asked God to do something in his life since he has been ministering his word through praise and worship songs for quite sometime.

Talking about the making of the sound track, Israel said it was actually kind of God’s intervention because the moment he sat on his keyboard, words started coming in and he composed them to music.

“I reached a point where I wanted God to do something new in my life. I was praying, asking God for the next move, and the same night I had a dream and someone was singing that song in my ears. Nina siri na ye yesu.

When I woke up the next day, I recorded the song in the night because I never remembered any word, and waking up in the morning, sitting on my keyboard all the words just came and I started writing the song, that was the song, that’s how I wrote the song,” Israel Mbonyi revealed.

Israel was actually not singing in Swahili up until God’s intervention, which made him unlock his potential.

“I was already an artist back at my home singing in my mother tongue in Kinyarwanda, and that way you can only be heard by a small group of people. At that time, I was praying and asking God what’s next, and then I knew God wanted me to sing in swahili,” Israel shared.
