Comedian-turned-activist Eric Omondi made waves during a recent appearance on Radio Jambo, where he shared his thoughts on the current political climate. Omondi, known for his outspoken views, didn’t shy away from addressing the recent Gen Z protests and the newly appointed cabinet.
When asked about his role in leading the Gen Z movement, Omondi surprisingly pointed fingers at President William Ruto. He claimed that the president’s actions were fueling the youth’s anger and protests.
“The leader of Gen Z is William Ruto,” Omondi boldly stated. “Every time he speaks, he ignites something.”
Shifting focus to the new cabinet, Omondi expressed optimism about the inclusion of opposition figures. He believes this move has created a clear divide between the political elite and ordinary citizens, empowering the latter to unite.
“We are the opposition now,” he declared, emphasizing the need for young people to organize and register to vote.
Omondi’s comments reflect his increasing involvement in Kenyan politics. Once a popular comedian, he has transitioned into a vocal critic of the government, using his platform to address social and political issues.
