Protests in Nairobi took a violent turn on Tuesday as demonstrators attempted to reach Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
March Disrupted by Police
A group gathered in the Nairobi Central Business District before setting off on a march. Their intended route, leading through Haile Selassie Avenue and Uhuru Highway, aimed to culminate at Mombasa Road, a potential access point to JKIA.
Police forces, anticipating the plan, moved quickly to disperse the crowd. Tear gas was deployed to halt the march’s progress.
