Museveni warns protestors against planning anti-goverment demonstrations

Published on

Uganda’s president Yoweri Museveni has given a stern warning to anyone who is planning the anti-government protests.

The president recently gave a speech on the country’s state as he explained why he believes protesting wouldn’t do the country any good.

Mr. Yoweri Museveni is accused by his critics of ruling Uganda with an iron hand since taking power in 1986, but his supporters praise him for maintaining stability in the East African state.

He has ruled the country for decades now and his opponents have always ended up in a cul de sac whenever they try to challenge him.

In his speech, the Ugandan president maintained that he doesn’t want any distructions that will ruin the focus of the country on making wealth.

“We are busy producing wealth… and you here want to disturb us.

He further warned them that they’re ‘playing with fire’ for the plans that they’re making.

You are playing with fire because we cannot allow you to disturb us,” he said.

Kenya encouraged Uganda’s Gen Z’s?

Museveni’s speech comes at a time when Kenyans are taking to the streets to fight for government reforms.

Taking to the streets seems to work as the finance bill was finally done away with after Kenyans demonstrated against it.

Uganda might have gotten the idea of demonstrating from Kenya’s Gen Z’s. Bangladesh was also recently among the countries that saw a heavy demonstration.
