Popular musician Wahu Kagwi bravely shared her struggles with infertility and pregnancy loss in a recent Instagram post.
Wahu revealed she endured two miscarriages before finally welcoming her healthy baby Shiru. The experience left her emotionally drained, and doctors suggested IVF as an option, but the fear of another loss made her hesitant.
“The pain…it was unbearable,” Wahu wrote about the miscarriages. “There’s never a guarantee,” she added, expressing her anxieties about trying again.
The desire for a third child remained strong, but the fear of loss was paralyzing. Seeing other mothers pregnant with their third child reignited her own dreams.
“Towards the end of 2021, I remember thinking to give up the dream,” Wahu confessed. However, she found solace in gratitude. “In January of 2022, I decided to exchange the pain for gratitude…I thanked God for the 2 children he had blessed me with.”
The emotional toll of the miscarriages persisted even after Wahu conceived Shiru.
“I was anxious my entire pregnancy,” she shared, worried that history might repeat itself.
Wahu’s story highlights the importance of mental health support during pregnancy loss. She encourages anyone struggling with similar experiences to seek professional help and counseling.
