President William Ruto has urged the media outlets responsible for propelling out news to the public to be very careful and mindful.

Speaking at the launch of a church service today in Bomet, President Ruto advised the media against reporting and encouraging violence, terming it “irresponsible’.

As much as they are media outlets and it is their job, he reminded them that siding is not good.

“I want to request the media to report responsibly; reporting celebrating, encouraging violence, and destroying property is irresponsible, and if the country goes in the wrong direction, there will be nothing to report and nowhere to report from.” President Ruto said.

In the past few days, if not weeks, the media has been on toes covering the current state of the nation, which is the anti-finance protests that have been taking place countrywide, capturing every detail on how the protestors are being treated and how the policemen are handling those protesting on the streets.

Still on the same note, he challenged those sponsoring violence to step forward and issue their alternative ways on how the country can better, move forward, and grow.

“I want to challenge those who are sponsoring this violence to step forward and give us their views on how to take Kenya forward. They must not remain formless or faceless; they must step forward and tell us beyond anarchy what their alternative plans for Kenya are.” President Ruto said.
