Dem Wa Facebook donates Sanitary Pads to her former school

Published on

Kenyan content creator and comedian Dem Wa Facebook recently visited her former school and decided to donate a few things as a sign of acknowledging her school and encouraging the students to work hard, especially the girls.

She talked to the young students, encouraging them to never give up on their dreams, as they will take them places. She went on to urge the young ladies to always dedicate most of their time to reading books and turn down any marriage proposals that they are receiving at the moment.

Dem Wa Facebook emphasized the need for the students to always communicate and not keep quiet, especially when it comes to airing out issues or matters that concern their health.

This is actually not the first time Dem Wa Facebook is offering help. She has always been passionate about giving back to our community, and her generosity continues to inspire us all.

Having attended the school herself, Dem Wa Facebook vividly remembered the discomfort and embarrassment that often accompanied menstruation among students. Access to sanitary pads was not always consistent, and many girls struggled silently, missing school or feeling ashamed due to inadequate supplies, which is why she reminded them to speak up and not be afraid even if they were experiencing it for the first time.

Armed with boxes filled with pads of various sizes and brands, Dem Wa Facebook returned to her former school, where she was greeted warmly by the staff, who were deeply appreciative of her efforts. Together, they organized a session to distribute the pads discreetly to the students, ensuring each girl received enough to manage her needs comfortably. The girls in unison appreciated while singing the ‘Mungu wetu ni wa ajabu’ song, thanking the heavens and Dem Wa Facebook for being so mindful and generous.

As Dem Wa Facebook handed out the pads, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of fulfilment. She knew firsthand the difference these seemingly simple items could make in a girl’s life—restoring dignity, ensuring attendance, and promoting confidence during a time that can be challenging for young women.
