Popular Kenyan dance trend has crossed borders, with even American personalities joining in on the fun. The dance, called “Anguka Nayo,” has taken TikTok by storm, and Kenyans on social media, including celebrities and politicians, have been showcasing their moves.
Shiksha Arora, a Kenyan media personality residing abroad, shared a video on TikTok that has gone viral. In the video, dressed in a vibrant yellow dress, Arora teaches the dance to an American TV host, Nick Kosir. Kosir, clad in a suit, gives the dance a try, attempting the signature “Gotha” sideways movement.
The lighthearted video shows them both squatting, shaking their heads and hands, and even attempting a funny leg raise at the end, leaving Arora in stitches. Arora further captioned the video:
Anguka nayo to the world!! Kenya to the world 🇰🇪🇺🇸 I met the amazing dancing weatherman @nickkosir in Times Square, NEW YORK! Made him do this dance like a true Kenyan! Can you tell he was really feeling it 😂😭 How did he do? We are now changing his name to Nick KINUTHIA! The dance has been popular to Kenyans over the past few weeks and garnered 1 million views in less than a week.
