The main suspect of the Mukuru kwa Njenga killings was recently arrested by the police during the Euro 2024 final match between England and Spain over the past weekend.
Kenya’s National Police reported that on Monday they arrested the 33-year-old man whom they called a “psychopathic serial killer with no respect for human life.” They said the suspect, Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, had admitted to murdering 42 women, including his wife, whom they say he acknowledged as his first victim.
Chief of Kenya’s national Directorate of Criminal Investigations Mohammed Amin said Khalusha had murdered some victims as recently as just four days prior to his arrest, but that his alleged killing spree began in 2022 with his wife.

Mother in law speaks
Khalusha’s mother in law has now come forth to give her side of the story on how she came to learn about the untimely demise of her daughter; who was Khalusha’s wife then.
Kamenya’s mother, speaking at the DCI headquarters yesterday evening, recounted being in regular contact with her daughter for years. However, in 2022, her daughter suddenly became unresponsive, untraceable, and stopped replying to WhatsApp messages.
”Alikuwa amepotea. Lakini sometimes alikuwa kwa mtandao ana chat na wengine. Lakini wakati ilifika 2022, account yake ikanyamaza. Ata akitextiwa hawezi rudisha. Tangu wakati hiyo sikumskia tena. Ndio nimeskia leo ripoti ameuawa,” she stated
The DCI are ongoing with the investigations and claims of Collins. The number of bodies recovered from Kware remains unclear.
