Renowned sports journalist Carol Radull has publicly endorsed Wanjii Mbugua as the next Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports. Mbugua, a former tennis champion and current Secretary-General of Tennis Kenya, is leading the Kenyan delegation at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Radull praised Mbugua’s extensive experience and commitment to Kenyan sports, highlighting her roles in various tennis and sports leadership positions. Mbugua holds a Communication degree from Daystar University and an Executive Masters in Sport Organisations Management from Belgium’s Université Catholique de Louvain.
While Radull’s endorsement has generated discussion, a significant online movement has emerged calling for Radull herself to take up the Sports CS position. Kenyans have expressed admiration for her deep knowledge of the sports industry and her passionate advocacy for its development.
As the nation awaits the appointment of a new Sports CS, the debate around the ideal candidate continues to unfold.
