Kenya’s deputy president, Rigathi Gachagua, has pleaded with the public, especially Generation Z, to call off the ongoing demonstrations, citing that their plea has been heard.

He urged the ones partaking in the demonstrations to consider calling them off because criminals have hijacked the move and are now using it to their own advantage by damaging property.

“The young generation Gen Z, as your father, my sons and daughters, we have heard you; you’ve spoken very clearly; the message is home.

What started as peaceful protests has unfortunately been hijacked by criminals with criminal intent who are now engaging in looting. I want to urge you to listen to us as parents and call off the protests so that criminals don’t hijack them and engage in criminal activities.” Gachagua said.

Inasmuch as he has no problem with the demonstrations, he urged them to call off the protests so that the country can be at peace because criminals are now ruining government and public property in the name of peaceful protests.

“As our children, you owe this country peace. Please consider now that you have been heard; it is your plea to be heard, and you’ve been heard.” Gachagua said.

The Gen Z’s that remain tribeless and leaderless are still on it and not ready to back down until their plea is heard they want to see the change that the President promised up until then they are making it clear that they will not get tired to march on the streets on a daily basis up until they are heard.
