Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has once again shared a strong message to President Ruto amid protests.
The member of parliament was among those who voted ‘no’ for the finance bill that was done away with anyway.
Writing on his socials, Salasya requested Ruto to listen to grievances of Kenyans protesting and take the necessary action that would calm them down.
”I pray that may God help Ruto realize what exactly these young people want ata kama ni kureshuffle his cabinet alete professionals”
Salasya admitted his dislike for president Ruto for ‘mistreating’ MPs, citing that it was among the things that expedited his ‘no’ vote.
“I have not liked the way Ruto is treating MPs. There is a problem with Ruto, he is treating MPs like rubbish, nitaangusha hiyo bill ata kama kura yangu ni moja (I will fail that bill even if it’s just with my one vote). Ruto is operating as if we are being paid from his own pocket, he is not the first person to run an economy. I agree that every MP should be known on which side he has voted. I am waiting for the MPs who will vote against the government agenda to give youth, the majority who voted for the employment,” he said.

Salasya was among the MPs whose numbers were leaked on social media before hearing of the finance bill. He claimed to have received numerous messages of requests to reject the finance bill.
“Who has shared my number on X (formerly Twitter) everybody across the nation is calling my number texting me and WhatsApping me I can’t sleep the phone is vibrating throughout I reject the Finance Bill tomorrow and are sending one shilling to confirm if it’s me. We are not voting tomorrow,” Salasya said.
