Speaking through a video he shared online, Khalif said that he has had enough with the way the public is seeing him concerning his stand on the 2024 Finance Bill, and his decision to step back comes after he received numerous threats from the public who feel like he is offending them, and for that, he owned it and apologized, promising to never again involve himself in the movement or do anything that might annoy the public to think otherwise of him.

Ukikaa home ukae utulie useme hii story si yangu, you are a traitor; na bado ukivoice opinion yako again, it is a problem.” Khalif shared his disappointment.

He goes on seeking forgiveness from the public, saying that if there’s anyone he ever offended by his marching on the streets, forgive him.

Mimi I have come to this decision. First of all, I want to apologize. Kama opinion yangu iliku offend, I apologize. I don’t want to weigh anyone down.

What I want to do is distance myself from this movement. Going forward, I am not going to take any interviews regarding this movement. You’ll never see me commenting about this movement or even posting anything related
.” Khalif said.
