The Gen Z’s have shown resilience when it comes to fighting for what they believe is right. Recently, they led the demonstrations on the finance bill as they called out the president for coming up with the bill.
Kenyan musician and enterpreneur Esther Akoth has penned a lengthy message that describes the Gen Z’s passion and fearless nature.
Taking to her Instragram, she related their bravery to being raised by single mothers.
”DONT STIGMATIZE CHILDREN, CHILDREN RAISED BY SINGLE MOTHERS ARE MORE RESPONSIBLE THAN THAT MARRIAGE YOU GLORYING. Generation Z might have been brought up by single mothers as you think 🤔, and this is why they are fearless. They have witnessed their mothers being thrown out of their maternal homes, left to survive or die.
She further continued to request the president not to pass the financial bill until a dialogue ensues from both parties.
”There is no need to play tough. I warn you—they have nothing to lose. They have everything to lose. The pain they have gone through growing up is enough to throw them into the streets. Don’t touch the children of single mothers. It might be true that you have raised your children with a present father ,but I implore you to show understanding and empathy. This finance bill should be put on hold until a dialogue happens”
Akothee has been among the numerous celebrities who have praised the Gen z’s for their bravery in leading the protests. The protests are expected to resume tomorrow.
