Sifuna & Boniface Mwangi show up at city mortuary to support Rex’s family

Reports are just coming in about a protester who was shot yesterday during the night demonstrations.

According to a recent report from Commentator 254, the protestor identified as Rex, had his gunman caught on camera after they ran from police who were dispersing the crowd.

The killing of the protestor has today sparked rage among netizens, who claim it was supposed to be a peaceful demonstration.

They condemned the police who were using live bullets in such a demonstration, citing that it was uncouth for them to enagage them despite being peaceful.

Rex’s mother has come to speak about the incident, saying she was informed of the incident at around 7 pm yesterday.

“I was called yesterday at around 7 pm and was told he had been shot on the left thigh and they took him to the nearest clinic at Archives it was called Bliss… When I got to town, he was dead,” she said.

Activists show solidarity

Reports claim that Rex’s body is at the city mortuary. activists like Bonface Mwangi have come out to show support to the family. In a statement on X, Bonface wrote;

.@husskhalid and l are heading there shortly. We are still at City Mortuary because the police delayed sending an investigating officer to witness the post mortem. There is also another patient at Nairobi West Hospital we are following up on.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna was also among those who showed up at the City Mortuary in support of the family of Rex.
