Eric Omondi reacts to ongoing protests against controversial Finance Bill 2024

Published on

It is unfortunate Eric Omondi has not been part of the ongoing protests by Kenyans who have refused to accept the Finance Bill 2024.

Having been on the forefront pushing against the Bill, Eric Omondi has not been able to participate in the ongoing Maandamo following the untimely demise of his younger brother Fred Omondi.

As reported Fred Omondi lost his life after the motorcycle he was riding on was involved in an accident with a speeding Matatu, injuring both the rider and Fred.

According to reports Fred was pronounced dead upon arrival at the mama Lucy Hospital where he had been rushed to.

With the tragic accident, activist Eric Omondi has been handling burial arrangements ahead of his brother’s final journey hence the reason he remains absent from the protests.

Eric speaks

However on 20th June Eric Omondi shared a short post dedicated to the protestors – reminding them that he is still with them in spirit.

Tuko Pamoja. Go Soldiers. Wacha nimalize nikam, he wrote.

Fans in the comment section however assured him they would handle the protests on his behalf seeing how vocal he has been about the finance bill in the past few months.

About two week ago Eric had been arrested for mobilizing mama Mboga to protest on the same matter and now Gen Z has risen up – demanding the change they believe Kenya deserves.
