Kenyan President William Ruto has declared that he has no problem with the public demonstrating on the streets, as it is their right.

The Kenya Kwanza Government, who was addressing a gathering, reminded netizens that, inasmuch as civil society is free to do as they please, they also need to understand that decisions are made by institutions.

“Civil society is free to do what they want to do; we are a democratic country; those who want to demonstrate, they can demonstrate it is their right, there’s no problem, but the decisions have to be made by institutions.”

President Ruto reiterated that he will do everything in his power to ensure that Kenya remains a robust country where everyone can speak their mind and assist in taking the country where everyone wants it to be.

We will make decisions as the executive and take them to the legislature, and the people of Kenya will speak to them through their public participation. That is how democracy works, and I am a great believer in a democracy. And I will make sure Kenya continues to be a robust democracy where people speak their minds and we all assist in taking the country where we all want it to be.” President Ruto said.

Today marks the second day that Kenyans will again march on the streets and keep advocating against the 2024 proposed finance bill, which has not sat well with many.
