Murugi Munyi shared her profound disappointment regarding the conditions of police cells. Speaking through a video she shared online, she outlined her concerns, shedding light on an issue that has been largely overlooked by the public and authorities alike.

Munyi’s primary concern centers around the basic human rights and dignity of those detained and the nature of the cell, let alone how one is being treated.

Why are Kenyan police cells so disgusting? Like, why must they treat people so badly? It is literally the most demeaning environment, like, Why are they shouting at people?”

She goes on to question a number of things that don’t add up, emphasizing the need for urgent reform.

Why is the cell so horrific? Why is the cell dark? Why are we a million in there? Why is it smelly? It is the most pungent susu in the whole world!!! Why are there no chairs? Why are they constantly trying to scare you??Why can’t it be a place of dignity and reform?” Murugi asked.

Her call to action includes advocating for better facilities, regular inspections, and greater transparency in how detainees are treated, adding that the Kenyan police system needs to be overhauled.

Why Munyi is advocating for people to work out regularly

However, she emphasized the need for people to constantly keep working out and staying fit because it might come in handy. This is because yesterday she really saw the meaning of it when they were being chased down by policemen.
