Netizens online have joined hands on social media as they continue to share phone numbers of their area MP’s hoping to convince them against voting for the the finance bill set to be passed on June 14th 2024.
Among the numbers shared online is that of president Ruto and Mumias East MP Peter Salasya who earlier this morning complained online of receiving numerous calls and texts from Kenyans who had accessed his number online.
Who has shared my number on @x everybody across the nation is calling my number ,texting me and WhatsApping me I can’t sleep the phone is vibrating throughout ati I reject finance bill kesho na wananitumia shilingi moja kwa mpesa to confirm if its me.We are not voting tomorrow. Salasya wrote on Instagram.
why Netizens are sharing
According to reports, the phone numbers were shared to the public hoping they would contact their area MPs – asking them to vote against the proposed Finance Bill 2024.
So far thousands of contacts have been published on X by random users, exposing the President, his deputy, governors, women representatives, and hundreds of Members of Parliament phone numbers online.
As seen on X, the likes of Amerix and others continue to champion against passing the controversial Finance Bill 2024 as they feel the common mwanainchi will become a slave – working for government taxes.
