Renowned Kenyan cinematographer and director Jibril Blessing (better known as J Blessing), offered a unique perspective on relationships during a recent celebrity event. He believes men often prioritize finding a wife over finding a true partner.
“There’s a big difference,” J Blessing explained. “Anyone can get married, but not everyone finds a real partner.”
J Blessing’s philosophy
For J Blessing, a partner is someone who supports your dreams and overlooks minor flaws. He emphasizes that true partnership goes beyond the formality of marriage.
This philosophy resonates with J Blessing’s personal life. Though a father to several children with public figures, he has never been married. This may come as a surprise considering his past relationships with singers Avril, Chantelle, Laika, and radio presenter Mwende Macharia.

J Blessing did come close to marrying Mwende Macharia. However, despite initial engagement and wedding plans, the couple ultimately separated due to undisclosed challenges.
J Blessing seems to be open to finding love again. He hinted at a blossoming new relationship, stating,
“There’s someone I recently started seeing, and she feels the same way.”
J Blessing’s advice comes at a time when celebrity break-ups have become more pronounced. Vera Sidika recently celebrated her divorce party. And it all seems to be a normal thing in the current generation.
