Njugush Schools Citizen TV on the Finance Bill 2024

Published on

Comedian Timothy Kimani, better known as Njugush, surprised viewers with his sharp commentary on Citizen TV’s discussion about the controversial Finance Bill 2024.

Njugush demonstrated a surprising grasp of the bill’s complexities, particularly regarding the government’s struggle to explain the proposed tax measures to the public.

He expressed frustration with the perceived ineffectiveness of tax collection, referencing scandals like the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) corruption case.

“The government experts are failing to communicate clearly,” Njugush said. “Our problem isn’t collecting taxes, it’s spending them!”

He further argued that higher taxes would hurt sectors like content creation, which rely on Kenyans’ disposable income.

Knowledge beyond comedy

Njugush’s clear analysis resonated with viewers, sparking online praise for his ability to explain complex economic issues in an understandable way. Social media users lauded him:

“Even Njugush explains it better than so-called economists!”

“Thank you, Njugush, for making it clear! The KRA guy should step down.”
