Kenyan President William Samoei Ruto has revealed his trip to the United States of America cost less than 10 million, not the allegedly 200 million.
Speaking during a breakfast meeting at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya, the Kenya Kwanza leader said that he is a responsible citizen and would not overspend, as Kenyans are saying on Twitter.
“There were many figures; this plan is so big that it must have cost 200 million Ksh because the president needed to arrive in style in the USA holding Rachael’s hands.
You know I am a very responsible citizen; believe me, theres no way I can spend 200 million; in fact, Lemmie disclosed here that it cost the Republic of Kenya less than 10 million.” President Ruto said.

Kenya’s President goes on reinstating that he is a leader who sets a rightful example for others to follow, and overspending would be the last thing on his mind that he would have thought of doing.
“I am not a mad man!! When I was told the cheapest plan was 70 million, I told my office to go book Kenya Airways. So when some friends of mine heard I was going to travel with Kenya Airways, considering the fact that we have built a good reputation as a country, they reached out to me and asked, How much do you want to pay? I said I was not ready to pay more than 20 million; they said bring 10 million and we will give you the plane.” President Ruto explained.
He concluded by saying that he is a leader who must set an example for others to follow, and he wouldn’t lead wrongly.
“Kenyans, Look at me. Look at me again. I must lead from the front. As I tell others to tighten up their belts, mine must be where to begin. So relax! and the debate must end because I am that responsible.” President Ruto shared.
