Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has been featured in a new trending music video recorded by Kenyan artist Gelfas Khayega Amuchitsi, whose stage name is ‘Firebwize‘.

In a surprising crossover between politics and entertainment, nominated Senator Karen recently made headlines for her appearance as a video vixen in a popular music video ‘Waambie Watulie‘, a swahili word that means ‘tell them to relax’. She was with another prominent member of parliament for Njoro Constituency, Charity Kathambi.

The song that has been on YouTube for three weeks now goes by the name ‘Waambie Watulie‘ is 3minutes 50 seconds and has been the talk of town because it has one of the most popular leaders in it leave alone the message that many have liked.

The music video, which has quickly gained traction on social media, showcases Senator Karen and her parliamentary colleague in a series of glamorous and high-energy scenes. Their participation has sparked a mix of reactions from the public, ranging from admiration for their versatility to debates about the appropriateness of politicians engaging in such entertainment ventures.

Why He Chose To Feature Political Leaders in his Music Video

He clarified why he decided to use government leaders on his music video, saying they were both for two different reasons, but they don’t differ much. For Karen Nyamu, he thought of featuring her in his music video because she is thought of as an amazing, kind-hearted person who has always supported him.

She is an amazing being; she loved my music, and she’s been my greatest support system. She is easygoing, understanding, and supportive. She sponsored my video at one of the fastest-growing music labels in Kenya, SAFRI Records. It’s always my dream to do quality work, and Mheshimiwa made it possible.”

On Hon. Charity Kathambi, he said that there’s no way he could’ve forgotten to feature his area MP because she is more than a mother to her. “Mhesh is my area MP and my boss. She is more of a mother to me. She has walked with me in my music career. I owe her a lot for the support she gave.”

As the music video continues to garner views and comments, it remains to be seen how this venture will impact the public perception of the involved lawmakers and their political careers.

About Musician Gelfas Firebwize

The background status of artist Firebwize is that he is from Kakamega but works and resides in Njoro. He started singing way back in 2002, making moves in 2017 when he recorded his first song.

Challenges

According to Firebwize, one of the main challenges he goes through as a creative is financial constraints, saying that in order for an artist to thrive in the entertainment world, they’ll need enough capital, and that’s something that not many people are privileged to have.

Although he has to deal with the main challenge, which is lacking enough capital to market his craft, he embraces music, saying it has helped him a great deal because it is because of his craft that he has managed to pay his bills, as well as connect with high-profile figures, especially those in government, which is why he was able to use some government officials in his video.

Firebwize plans to keep recording more music in the near future as well as build a talent base, kind of creating a platform to support the young upcoming creatives wanting to learn how the industry works and how to make their career work.

The Inspiration behind his Track

The inspiration behind his track is the current tough economic times. He believes his track, as the title suggests, will be able to give hope to many who are losing hope in these trying times, saying the essence of the track is to encourage people to hang in there and trust that the Lord will deliver them.

His song ‘Waambie Watulie‘ that is now streaming on YouTube captures the resilience and hope that persist despite adversity, creating a powerful connection with listeners who find solace and strength in his work. Through his music, Firebwize aims to shed light on the current tough economic times, fostering a sense of unity and shared experience among his audience.
