Kenyan comedian Stella Koitie, better known by her stage name Jemutai, is offering some tough love advice to women in relationships. In a recent Instagram video, the mother of two cautioned against assuming a relationship is secure just because things are comfortable.
Jemutai emphasizes that there’s no magic point in a relationship that guarantees it will last. She uses humor to illustrate this point.
“Don’t think you’ve reached some ultimate level because you brush your teeth together while your partner uses the bathroom. They can still leave!”
Her message continues with a dose of reality: physical intimacy doesn’t guarantee commitment.
“Ladies, even farting in front of someone doesn’t mean they’re sticking around forever.”

Jemutai’s advice
Jemutai suggests that women may overestimate their understanding of relationships. She proposes that men might have a better grasp on relationship dynamics: “We’re all learning the ropes,” she says, comparing relationships to a comedic kindergarten playgroup. “Education level doesn’t matter here. Whether you have a PhD or never went to school, we all make mistakes.”
Her final point challenges the idea that women can “outsmart” men in relationships. She playfully asks viewers to consider how often they’ve forgiven a partner’s mistakes. “How many apologies have you received this year? Playgroup!” she concludes.
It’s important to note that Jemutai keeps her current relationship status private. However, a few years ago, she spoke openly about challenges in her relationship with comedian Herman Kago (Professor Hamo), with whom she shares two children.
