Kenyan artist Mejja, popularly known as ‘Mtoto wa Khadija’, has explained why he never took on the Machachari role he was given.
Speaking in a podcast he was at, he opened up, saying he opted not to take up the role in the TV series that used to air in Citizen because he felt like he wasn’t being allowed to work at his own will and there were restrictions on what he could and could not do.

“Nimeenda auditions kadhaa…but reason sifanyangi ni because ukiwaambia kama unaeza change script kidogo…wanasema haiwezi wacha ibaki hivo.” Mejja shared.
Mejja went on narrating that he was supposed to act in the ‘Madvd’ role, but another reason he decided not to is because the character demanded that he appear more in the show, and he wanted to appear less and not on a regular basis.
“Kitu moja wasee hawajui…kulikua na msee aliniapproach akaniambia kuna msee alikua anataka kuniona…..na alitaka niact character ya ‘MADVD’ pale machachari niliskia character inabamba lakini nilikua naogopa kuonekana kwa TV kila siku.
But akanishow vile script inaenda utakua unatokea sana.” Mejja shared.
The ‘Weh Decide’ hitmaker hinted that later on she would like to be a director, apart from being an artist, as he has a high level of IQ Mejja can apparently tell that one has talent and be able to direct and identify potential in someone.
