These new changes bring a modern, new experience to WhatsApp and make it look more appealing to the user.

Dark Mode and a Whiter Background:
WhatsApp has made the dark mode more dark than it initially was, and they have also added a bit of a more white appearance to the app, thus catering to those who prefer using the white background.
Colors:
They have changed the color scheme of the app. If you try looking closely, you’ll realize there’s a dent of green that many have actually noticed talking about it.
Icons and Buttons:
Unlike the initial ones, icons and buttons now look way different, despite retaining their initial position. There’s a slight change in their shapes, though.
Spacing:
Quite a few parts of WhatsApp are more spaced out than they were before.
WhatsApp Logo:
You’ll notice the WhatsApp logo in your chats.
Android Navigation:
Tabs can be easily accessed as they have been moved to the bottom.
Inasmuch as the newly added features have been rolled out, not everyone will experience them, as they take time. However, users have been advised to stay updated so that they don’t miss out on the amazing features that WhatsApp has on board.
