Kenyan artist Boutross Munene has shared the reason why he rarely collaborates with other artists.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with our very own journalist Silvakido, he said that he rarely collaborates with other artists because he is an intellectual property handled by other people who have invested greatly in the ‘Boutross brand. This is why he doesn’t go on hollering at other artists to collaborate with them or give everyone a chance, because he doesn’t want to risk what he has worked hard to get and build.

He, however, hinted that he is not entirely blocking people from accessing him as long as they use the right channels.
“They have to act professionally, Lazima Wapitie, the right channel, managers, plus I am an intellectual property that is also handled by other people who have invested in me with their lives; they have things they’re banking on the brand Boutross. Reason why I can’t go against the core values.” Boutross explained.
In response to those who think he is boasting because he is establishing norms, he told them off that he doesn’t give a damn about what they think because everyone deserves to be treated equally.
“I should follow the process and do the same with little money if I am doing it with large sums of money.
I don’t have to make you feel nice because, in my opinion, if you don’t like it, it’s cool.” Boutross shared.
